Unlikely Holiday Storage Heroes

Thinking about holiday storage post Holiday is not the most fun thing in the world. Holiday storage containers can be difficult to find and incredibly expensive, and let’s face it after the Holidays no one wants to spend that money. But we can help. We’ve rounded up some holiday storage heroes that you most likely already have laying around.
- Garment Bags
Next time you come back from the dry cleaners or a boutique, keep these bags for storing wreaths, stockings, artificial trees, etc. The sky is the limit. A clear bag is better but either will work!
- Magazine Racks
Use this to organize wrapping paper, cards, bags and ribbon separated per the type of occasion for easy access.
- Divided Liquor Boxes
These are a great option to store any fragiles that can’t be bumped up against anything.
- Cardboard Pieces
Take those old cardboard pieces you get in the mail frequently and wrap things like ribbon or lights around them. Pro tip: if using for ribbon or cord, cut a little notch to thread through for handy use.
- Everyday Boxes
As tempting as it is to throw away boxes as soon as they arrive with something, save cardboard shipping boxes for storage later around Holiday times and you’ll be thankful you did. Be sure to label it.
- Toilet Paper and Paper Towel Tubes
These are also super handy for holiday decor. Stick strings of lights, extension cords and other miscelleous things in each tube. Store them upright to be able to easiy view what is in each of them.
- Egg Cartons
Start stockpiling these ahead of time. They are also great for ornaments, trinkets and sundries and offer that cushy layer of protection and easy stacking.
- Suitcases
We all keep suitcases around that we rarely use, and these are great for maximizing storage space but also toting around heavier Holiday decor items.
