As winter approaches, AA1 Self Storage wants you to be able to use your garage for its intended purpose: to shelter your cars from the sleet and snow of Ogdensburg, NJ! • You’ve got a couple of options for the junk pile: A) set it out for trash pick-up B) donate what’s useable to your local charity or thrift store C) haul it to your local recycling center D) have a yard sale E) sell it online. If you have large items to dispose of, check with your trash service to see when they offer curbside pickup for these types of items.

Also, if you want to sell some of your items, selling them from your storage bin is far safer. The buyers don’t know your address, and the cameras and gates keep them honest.

• At this point, you should be left with just the things that you use on a daily or somewhat daily basis, that you want easy access to. It won’t work to just throw them back into the garage, as they’ll breed more junk! Install some shelving along a wall or two of your garage to keep these belongings neat and organized.

• Take a picture! You’ll want to remember just how good it looks to have a tidy space that can fit not only your stuff, but your vehicles as well. When this space starts to stray from the image you’ve captured – repeat this process!
