Pre-Packing Like a Pro

There comes a time in every person’s life where they must pack a moving truck and head to somewhere new. Whether it be off to school, or into a new house, moving is inevitable. One of the major problems that one might have when it comes to moving is pre-packing the truck, especially if they’re not familiar with the key steps to take in order to make their move the easiest and most successful.

Labels are a Good Thing

The first major thing to remember is that labels are your friend. Every box or bag you pack to put into the truck should have a label with your name, phone number, and address on it in case they get lost or mixed up on the way to the final destination.

Padding + Taping

The second most important step in a move is utilizing heavy padding and taping. All of your items should be wrapped securely in bubble wrap, or something just as secure in order to protect the items in your boxes. Plastic wrap and tape on both the outside and the inside of the box are also a very good idea to minimize any damage to the boxes during the hectic truck ride, especially if there’s a long journey ahead.

Save the Screws!

If dissembling furniture, make sure to always save the screws that hold the piece together in separate baggies, or if too big, separate boxes. Another good idea is taping the screws of each item together, that way, there’s small chance of losing separate nuts or bolts!

Sturdy is Best

The last yet not least step is to make sure your boxes are stable enough to carry the weight of your items. Pack everything into sturdy boxes that have no chance of collapsing under the pressure and potentially damaging the items in your boxes.

Now that you have the key steps to pre-packing the truck, you’re ready to embark on the newest adventure of your life. With these helpful tips, you can stop dreading the packing process, and look forward to it instead! Bon voyage!
